Shortly after, Panathinaikos officially announced the information about the reinforcement. The 28-year-old guard joined the Greek club for two seasons.

CSKA Moscow will receive around a 250k buyout for releasing the player who had two years remaining on his contract, sources say BasketNews.

Panathinaikos, Valencia, and Zalgiris Kaunas were in the race for the Lithuanian scorer signature.

PAO made the best offer financially and Grigonis made up his mind on Thursday evening.

"They pay a few hundred thousand more than us on average," Motiejunas said in an interview with BasketNews. "This is an unimaginable amount for us."

Grigonis will form the Panathinaikos backcourt with Nate Wolters, as BasketNews reported before.

Last season, he averaged 8.5 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 7.4 PIR in 16 EuroLeague games.
