Argentine forwardPatricio Garinowill play for Basquet Girona next season, making his ACB comeback.

Trained in the lower categories of teams in his hometown (Mar del Plata), Garino moved to the United States at the age of 16. From 2012 to 2016 he completed his university stage in the George Washington Colonials of the NCAA.

The following season (2016–17) he played for the Austin Spurs , a D-League team owned by the San Antonio Spurs. He concluded the course in the Orlando Magic, debuting in the NBA.

After the US adventure, Garino made the jump to the European continent, where he has played for Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz in Spain (2017-20), Lithuanian Zalgiris Kaunas (2020-21) and French Nanterre (2021-22).

The 2.01-m forward averaged 3.0 points, 0.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 2.0 PIR over 7.3 minutes in his last EuroLeague season. He accumulated 3.5 points and 1.5 rebounds over 9.7 minutes in the Lithuanian Basketball League.

Garino suffered a torn ACL in November of 2019. After signing with Zalgiris, he was expected to play at the start of the 2020-21 season but suffered a setback in his recovery and was never able to get in rhythm with the Lithuanian champions.

Before the injury, Garino averaged 6.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 5.9 PIR over 19 minutes withBaskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz in the 2019-20 EuroLeague campaign. Now, at the age of 29, he's set to join Marc Gasol and Spanish point guard Quino Colom at Girona.

Gasol, 37, is expected to continue playing and leading the team, combining his duties on the track with those of president of the entity. After a 13-year NBA career, he returned for the 2021-22 season and helped his team gain promotion to the country's top division.

"I am very happy for coming to Girona. I am very grateful to the club for having reached an agreement that means a lot to me", said Garino, the second signing of the Catalan squad after Colom.

"I really want to start playing. A very big project is being constructed with the return of Girona to the ACB. We have the opportunity to do something good," the player emphasized.
