So far, Danilo Andjusic, Dante Exum and James Nunnally have joined the ranks of the black-and-whites, while Nemanja Nedovic, Hassan Martin, John Holland and Dalibor Ilic have strengthened the red-and-white side of Belgrade.
In an interview with the weekly outlet Express, Red Star president Nebojsa Covic talked about various topics, among which were the team's potential reinforcements. Covic pointed out that the club tried to get Boban Marjanovic and Nemanja Bjelica, but after coming up short, they have turned their attention to other players, like Milos Teodosic and Miroslav Raduljica.
"When you build a team, you have the desire to buy everything that is of value," Covic said.
"Nedovic came back, we tried with Bjelica and Marjanovic and failed. Now, the focus is on (Milos) Teodosic and (Miroslav) Raduljica. There are also younger players, like Dalibor Ilic.
We also have several juniors, many talented ones who went to FMP and some other clubs. Some will stay with the first team. One of them is the very talented Nikola Topic, the son of our former ace Milenko Topic," Covic pointed out.
Teodosic, last year's EuroCup final MVP, is a former EuroLeague champion (2016), a EuroLeague MVP (2010), and a two-time EuroCup regular season MVP (2020, 2021). He also has multiple EuroLeague and EuroCup First Team selections. Now 35, the Serbian guard joined EuroCup winners Virtus Segafredo Bologna in 2019, leading the team to the Italian league title in 2021.
