"I feel very good that I am now a Panathinaikos player," said the Lithuanian.
"All of Europe knows what Panathinaikos means. Anyone who watches basketball has a full understanding of the legacy of this team," added Grigonis.
Grigonis continued praising his new club by giving examples of the great European players that played for Panathinaikos in the past.
"I've been a basketball fan since I was little, so from the moment players like Jasikevicius, Siskauskas, Diamantidis and other greats have worn this shirt," said Grigonis.
"I couldn't help but fully understand the size of the club" explained Grigonis.
The transfer required a buyout, as his former team CSKA Moscow had the Lithuanian still under the contract after he left Russia in the middle of the last season due to war in Ukraine.
"I feel really relieved. I had a severe… headache this whole time. Basically, I was six months without a team," Grigonis revealed.
"In the end, fortunately, everything went well and I am happy to be part of Panathinaikos", said the Lithuanian.
Grigonis has also given praise not only to the club itself but the fanbase it has.
"I knew about the Panathinaikos crowd's craze for the team," started Grigonis on the topic.
"At home games, they are [the fans] the sixth player," said Grigonis.
"In the last few days I have received countless messages of support and love from Panathinaikos fans and I thank them for that," Grigonis revealed.
"I have competed in OAKA and I know how difficult it is for the opponents," said the Lithuanian.
"However, I have not played in a Panathinaikos-Olympiacos derby to experience this hot atmosphere. I can't wait to experience it," added the 28-year-old.
At the end of the interview, Grigonis was not giving big promises when asked about expectations but promised to do his best.
"I don't like a lot of big words. I will work hard to help the team win," said Grigonis.
"We will try to win all the matches in order to continue the legacy of the club" the Lithuanian concluded.
