Although Westbrook's future in the Lakers remains uncertain, the call was about to make sure they will be united and do everything in their pursuit of an NBA title.
In recent weeks Westbrook has been surrounded by trade rumours, which mostly included a package that would include Kyrie Irving.
In the upcoming season, Westbrook will earn $47 million before becoming an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2023.
Last season Lakers finished with a record of 33-49 and didn't even make a Play-In tournament, securing only 11th place in the Western Conference.
