"I like our team and where it's at," Myers told Mark Medina from NBA.com. "I want to give the guys a chance to do it again."
The team has a young core of Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman, and Moses Moody, so it was expected that the Warriors would pursue Durant to reunite him with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
"It's a good group. We're lucky. It'll be fun to see," the GM said. "We were really hunting last year. Now I guess we're back to being the hunted, which I didn't think we'd be. We'll see. I think we can handle it."
The Warriors won their fourth NBA title in 8 seasons this year, two of them come with Durant on the roster in 2017 and 2018.
This offseason, the NBA champs lost three players - Gary Payton II went to Portland Trail Blazers, Otto Porter Jr. signed with Toronto Raptors, and Damion Lee went to the Phoenix Suns. As a response, the Warriors have signed Donte DiVincenzo, while veteran JaMychal Green is also expected to sign with the club.
"We kept most of it together, but we have to stay healthy," Myers said. "I didn't think we'd make it last year, but we did. I watch like you do. We'll see what happens."
