EuroCup newcomers Paris Basketball announce their new head coach / News - Basketnews.com
EuroCup newcomers Paris Basketball have announced the new head coach for the upcoming season.
Former NBA G-League Coach of the Year Will Weaver is set to lead the French club. He will take the reigns from Jean-Christophe Prat who coach the team last season.
Weaver has spent most of his coaching career as an assistant in the NBA. In the 2018-19 season, he coached the G-League's Long Island Nets and was nominated as the best coach of the tournament.
In the following year, he traveled to Australia to lead the Sydney Kings, the club that is partially owned by Andrew Bogut. The club reached the Grand Final of the NBL but subsequently lost by refusing to participate due to COVID-19.
After finishing as the runner-up for the Oklahoma City Thunder's head coaching vacancy in 2020, Weaver got hired by the Houston Rockets for an assistant coach role, which he served up until this summer.
