LeBron James is preparing for his 20th season in the NBA and is set for a hunt of yet another record.

He currently sits second on the all-time scoring list only behind the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who retired in 1989. James has 37,062 points scored, while Abdul-Jabbar–38,387.

According to ClutchPoints, LeBron will only need to average 16.2 points per game next season to break the record. But he needs to play in all 82 regular-season matches.

For the past two years, the 37-year-old Los Angeles Lakers superstar has been suffering from injuries and missed quite a significant amount of games. In the 2020-21 campaign, he competed in 45 matches and last season played throughout 56 duels.

The mentioned points average seems to be an easy task for LeBron James. For reference, he has averaged at least 25.0 points per game during every season except his rookie year when he registered 20.9 points a match as a teenager.

LeBron averaged 30.3 points and scored 1697 points in total within the last regular season.
