As earlier The Athletic reported, a trade package that would have seen the Lakers trade Westbrook and a first-rounder to the Pacers in return for Myles Turner and Buddy Hield is currently dead. The Pacers want a second first-round selection added to the deal.
Westbrook, 33, opted into his $47.1 million player option for the 2022-23 season last month.
A nine-time All-Star averaged 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists with 10 triple-doubles while shooting 44.4 percent from the floor and 29.8 percent from deep in 78 starts last season.
