After a successful campaign in the EuroCup last season, Frutti Extra Bursaspor and their coach Dusan Alimpijevic are going on a preseason friendlies trip, among which is a special inaugural tournament.

The Turkish club will play against FMP Meridian and KK Mega Basket, Mozzart Sport reports.
Alimpijevic's team will then travel to Novi Sad to play against KK Vojvodina. The match will mark the start of the tournament in memory of the late Stevan Jelovac. The city, which sometimes is called Serbian Athens, will host the tournament annually from thereon, Mozzart Sport reports.
Jelovac had strong malaise and fainting tendencies during his team's, AEK Athens, training session, where he suffered a stroke from which he never recovered. He passed away on December 5th, 2021.
The late player was born in Novi Sad. He started his professional career in minor club KK Vizura. Later on, he went on to play for Crvena Zvezda, Antalya BSB, JuveCaserta, Lietuvos Rytas, CAI Zaragoza, Nizhny Novgorod, Brose Bamberg, Gaziantep Basketbol, and San-en NeoPhoenix of the Japanese B.League.
