More than a week after the game, DeRozan sat down with Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green in his podcast "The Draymond Green Show" to talk about the experience.
"In the wake of that morning to see the line around the Drew League stretched around the corner, it just took it back to that old school, early 2000s feel," he talked about the impact the Lakers superstar had. "Just to see the kids out there being able to see LeBron James come play in Compton, you cannot beat that."
Green himself was in attendance at the match. Overshadowed by LeBron, DeRozan contributed to the victory with 30 points and 14 rebounds.
"I was honored to be a part of it, and I gotta give credit to Bron," DeRozan said. "You're talking about a guy that's the GOAT in our league, going into his 20th season, going out there playing."
"It was an amazing feeling," he remembered. "I had a great time just being out there, playing with him, obviously."
