"Thank you Zalgiris Kaunas organization, Zalgiris fans, city of Kaunas for these 2 years that we spent together. Wishing the club the best for the future," Lauvergne wrote on his Twitter account.

Shortly after, Zalgiris officially posted a "Goodbye" message to Lauvergne.

As BasketNews reported earlier, Lauvergne is heading back home. He will join LDCL ASVEL Villeurbanne and unite forces with another French EuroLeague star Nando De Colo.

The 30-year-old center was under contract with Zalgiris for another year, but both sides agreed to part ways.

Lauvergne spent the last two years in Lithuania.

Joffrey Lauvergne appeared in 13 EuroLeague games last season, averaging 8.3 points and 3.4 rebounds over 15 playing minutes. He missed a significant amount of time due to a shoulder injury.
