AX Armani Exchange Milan have signed Deshaun Thomasto a two-year (1+1) deal, the Italian club announced.

Thomas averaged 9.6 points and 3.2 rebounds for 7.9 PIR for FC Bayern Munich in the EuroLeague last season. His most successful game came against FC Barcelona in Game 2 of the quarterfinals where the American forward had a sensational night, going for 25 points on 6/7 three-point shots and 7 rebounds.

At Olimpia Milan, the 30-year-old power forward is expected to fill in for (his former Panathinaikos OPAP teammate) Dinos Mitoglou, who's still to find out his sentence for using illegal substances last March.

"Deshaun will bring to our team experience, shooting and versatility: he is the player we wanted in order to have more depth and more solutions. We are happy to have him with us", said Milan's general manager, Christos Stavropoulos.

It is a blessing for me and my family to have this opportunity to fight and compete for such an historical team and help win as many games as possible, both in the EuroLeague and the Italian league. Deshaun Thomas, hailing from Fort Wayne in Indiana, attended the Ohio State from 2010 to 2013. In 2013, after being picked at number 58 by the San Antonio Spurs, he came to Europe to serve in Nanterre in France (12.2 points per league game).

Subsequently, he was at Barcelona (7.1 points per game in EuroLeague), the Austin Spurs, Efes (7.3 points per game), Maccabi (11.5 points per game in EuroLeague), Panathinaikos (10.5 points per game in the first year, 13.9 with 4.4 rebounds in the second) and Bayern Munich (9.9 in the 2021-22 season).

In between, he also had an experience in Tokyo in the Japanese league. He won the Greek title and the National Cup in 2019 with Panathinaikos, the Israeli title in 2018 with Maccabi, and the French Cup with Nanterre.

In the EuroLeague, he has played 197 games with a career average of 9.7 points.
