Andrew Albicy left French NT camp after medical check / News - Basketnews.com
The French national team gathered for the training camp on Friday at INSEP in Paris to prepare for the EuroBasket 2022.
Before the training camp started, medical tests were carried out this Sunday in Nanterre. After the checks, it was decided to release playmaker Andrew Albicy.
The 32-year-old Albicy, who recently felt discomfort in his thigh before the gathering of the national team, was released in agreement with the team.
The Gran Canaria guard may be reviewed later and reinstated, if his condition allows it. French NT's head coach Vincent Collet has no plans to replace Albicy for the moment.
Vincent Collet's players started basketball practice this Sunday, July 31, at the Palais des Sports in Nanterre.
In the upcoming EuroBasket, France will compete in Cologne in the preliminary round versus host Germany, Lithuania, Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Slovenia. The 16 national teams surviving the group stage will move to Berlin with a single-elimination format taking over until the gold medal game on 18 September.
