"It's a nice feeling, I wanted to play national basketball," Nedovic told today. "The last time I played in Rio was in 2016, then due to various unfortunate circumstances, I could not be on the team. I'm ready, I see the others are ready too. We have a great squad, we look quite powerful, I'm looking forward to everything to come."
Nedovic will once again play under coach Svetislav Pesic, his first time since 2012 when the guard played for Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, a team he came back to play in this offseason.
Pesic is usually known as one of the strictest coaches in European basketball. The things have changed, however, Nedovic says.
"This is a different story. He was very harsh and strict before. Now he is more flexible, moodier," the player explained. "He is aware that these are all players who have been playing at the top level for many years. We have Jokic, who is probably the best player in the world right now. It is important that we adapt to him and he to us, to create a good atmosphere, the rest will be easy."
Serbia will face the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Finland, Israel, and Poland from 2 to 8 September in Group D in Prague.
