On Thursday the Turkish center released a statement that he shared on Twitter, confirming he will not attend the upcoming EuroBasket and calling out the media in the process.

"I won’t have hard feelings with Turkish NT despite media manipulations" Yurtseven's tweet caption said.

"I wanted you to hear from me personally the missing parts in the news these days when you read the news that 'I did not attend the national team camp without permission' written by a single person without even calling me," Yurtseven stated.

"I think you will understand much better when you put yourself in the subject instead of reading what I am going to say as a response to the news," said the Turkish player.

The Miami Heat center said he would participate in tournaments with the national team in the future.

"I may not have been able to participate in this tournament, but my coaches, managers, and friends who know me best are the ones who know best that if I am called in the Olympic Games and the World Championships, I will go running," said Yurtseven in his statement.

The center said he will still cheer for his national team, despite not being able to be with the team himself.

"I have no other agenda other than the success of my brothers who are all very close friends of mine at the camp. This polemic is a great injustice to them," said Yurtseven.

"It is a basketball truth that NBA players meet with the national jersey from time to time and support their teammates from afar from time to time," he continued.

"Especially in the basketball countries of Europe, and also in the US national team," added Yurtseven.

The Turkish center was calling out the media in his statement, calling it out for manipulation.

"As Omer Faruk Yurtseven, I will not be offended by media manipulation on the Turkish national team jersey, which I proudly carry many times in the Ul6, U18, U20, and A National Team categories," explained Yurtseven.

In his statement, Yurtseven wished success for everyone on the team several times

"I wish the whole team success in the World Cup Qualifications and the European Championship," said Yurtseven.

"Especially my incredibly talented friends on the team, my coach whose achievements are not in dispute, my federation president whose NBA career is full of successes, and the whole team from the staff to the physiotherapist," added the Turkish center.

"You know you have a fan who will watch you like children in Miami on the way to the medal," Yurtseven concluded.
