The Spanish national team has been preparing for the 2023 FIBA World Cup and EuroBasket 2022 recently. Now, the head coach of the team, Sergio Scariolo, has announced the first four players that are leaving 'La Familia'.

Alberto Diaz

Alberto Diaz, Jonathan Barreiro, Miquel Salvo, and Hector Alderete are the first four players to depart from the team just before the trip to Athens where the squad will play its first friendly game against Greece tomorrow.

With the exclusion of Dias, the possibility of Juan Nunez, the MVP of the European U20 Championship, being included in the final roster has increased. While Lorenzo Brown is expected to serve as the main point guard, Nunez's chances to be the backup have now grown.

On the other side of the news, Usman Garuba has joined the national team that currently consists of 18 players. However, his participation in both upcoming tournaments still remains in question due to an injury suffered in the NBA Summer League.

One more player will not be able to help Spain during the match against Greece. Real Madrid guard Sergio Llull has left the training camp due to personal reasons and is expected to return on August 10th.

Full Spanish NT squad:
