Months after Ben Simmons was officially left out of the roster, the Boomers' head coach, Brian Goorjian, removed five players from the list, cutting the squad from 22 candidates to 17.
It features a number of NBA players, including Josh Giddey, Joe Ingles, Patty Mills, Matisse Thybulle, Jock Landale, Josh Green, Doup Reath, Dante Exum, Dyson Daniels, and Jack White.
The Australian national team will begin their training camp in late June and play the first friendly game against China in the first week of July. Then, the Boomers will fly to Abu Dhabi, UAE, to play a couple of friendly games against Team USA and Serbia, on July 15th and July 16th, in particular.
Australia is placed in Group A in the Olympics alongside Canada and winners of the Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQT) in Piraeus, Greece, and Valencia, Spain.
