The Slovenian Basketball Federation announced that Goran Dragic, Luka Doncic, Mike Tobey, and Vlatko Cancar will play in the EuroBasket preparation cycle game against Turkey tonight in Istanbul.

Denver Nuggets forward Cancar is set to make his debut with the national team this summer, as he missed the FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers window in June and July.

Team captain Dragic is coming back to the Slovenian NT for the last dance in EuroBasket 2022. He and Doncic, who joined the team practices yesterday, navigated their national team to two victories in the last FIBA window.

The Turkey-Slovenia duel starts at 19:00 CEST. Istanbul has a special meaning for Slovenia, as they won their first-ever EuroBasket in 2017 behind the dominant Dragic and Doncic combo.

"When we arrived in Istanbul, we relived the triumphant feelings from five years ago. This is our lucky city, hotel, and arena. But that's behind us. We are interested in the future and we are all on the national team with the desire to repeat this success or get closer to it.

Slovenia will be based in Cologne for the initial group phase of EuroBasket 2022. The reigning champs will face France, Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, and the hosts, Germany, from September 1-7, 2022.
