Baskonia officially sign Darius Thompson / News - Basketnews.com

Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz announced the signing of American guard Darius Thompson on a two-year deal.

Thompson signed a two-year contract with Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar last summer, butthe 1.93-meter American left Krasnodar as soon as Russia started the war in Ukraine.

Until leaving the team in Russia, Thompson averaged 12.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.8 steals, and 17.9 PIR over 11 EuroCup games.

The 1.93-meters tall Thompson arrived at Lokomotiv after two seasons with Happy Casa Brindisi. In both seasons in Italy, the guard also competed in the FIBA Basketball Champions League, where he recorded 12.1 points and 5.2 assists in the 2020-21 campaign.

In his final year in Italy, Thompson averaged 13.4 points and 5.6 assists in the 25 games he played.
