However, former NBA small forward and 2016 NBA champion Richard Jefferson, who played with James on the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2015 to 2017, doesn't think LeBron has done enough to be considered an all-time great for the Lakers.
"LeBron James has not done enough as a Laker to be on that list. Bron been there now — this is his fourth season, right? They've been in there four seasons. Two years, they haven't made the postseason. One year, they lost in the first round. And one year, they won a championship," Jefferson said during an appearance on a recent episode of hisRoad Trippin'podcast with Channing Frye.
The past two seasons have been bleak for the Lakers, as the team did not jell.
The 37-year-old LeBron is entering his fifth season with the Los Angeles team in 2022-23. Everything starts from the beginning in this upcoming campaign, and James can prove Jefferson's words wrong.
If LeBron James manages to be considered one of the Lakers' greats by bringing in more NBA trophies to LA, he'll join a list with the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Jerry West, and Wilt Chamberlain.
