Ergin Ataman: 'I'm not so excited about some of the players' / News - Basketnews.com
After pretty comfortably beating Georgia in the opening match of the Acropolis tournament, Turkey national team's head coach Ergin Ataman shared his thoughts about the match in the post-game interview.
"We had terrible defense in the first half but in the second half, we started to pressure them with more aggressiveness. We controlled the rebounds, and then we found the fast break points, especially with Cedi [Osman] and Furkan [Korkmaz]," the flamboyant specialist told.
Being his true self, Ataman even received a technical foul in the fourth quarter.
"I think it's a good preparation game. Georgia is a great team, Shengelia and Shermadini played great, it's a good friendly game for us," Ataman said.
Cedi Osman came in clutch in the third quarter, scoring all of the team's first ten points in the period. He ended the quarter with 15 points out of 27 the entire roster scored and finished the game with 22.
"Every game in the EuroBasket will be a different story. We will see. It will be different for them, it will be different for us," Ataman answered. "Tonight, I'm not so excited about some of the players but it's ok, it's only one game. The most important thing is how ready we will be for the two games against Latvia and Serbia."
The next game in the tournament for Turkey comes against Poland tomorrow at 17:00 CET.
