Tyler Dorsey is optimistic about EuroBasket: 'The goal is the medal' / News - Basketnews.com
Tyler Dorsey does not hide he wants a medal with the Greek national team in the upcoming EuroBasket.
The new Dallas Mavericks guard had a productive friendly game against Poland in the Acropolis Tournament opener, posting 19 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists for his personal best EFF in the national team – 20.
"I feel great playing in the national team. I was absent in the previous years, but now I am with Giannis and feel very good when I am playing. Greece is always home to me," Dorsey said after the preparation game, via Gazzetta gr.
As stated by the 26-year-old, it's special to play with NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo on the same court.
"It's nice to play with Giannis and the other guys. Giannis is constantly attacking the basket and making passes. I was free and took the shots [against Poland]. The opposing defense had built a wall in front of Giannis, so I had space to shoot. We build confidence through training. I am optimistic about EuroBasket, and the goal is the medal," Dorsey declared.
"The team is building steadily to be ready for EuroBasket. We become a team as time goes on. To do well, we have to work on defense. There were times when we weren't good against Poland and we have to work on that," he concluded in a brief post-game interview.
