"I think I said a lot of controversial things in general because I think outside the box. But for some reason, every time I mention Steph Curry, everybody gets mad, and everybody assumes I don't like him," James smiled.
"But I think he's amazing. To be honest, he changed basketball. Like seven years ago, everybody started shooting threes and playing small ball. Not only because of him. Like 75% of him, and then like the other 25% the Warriors. I don't have a problem with him," James told on the BasketNews show.
James also explained his statement on his Twitter profile when his comment made headlines all over US media and social media platforms, focusing on Curry being called "one-dimensional".
"I don't ever remember saying he's one-dimensional. I said something like, 'how he gets his stuff off sometimes it can be one-dimensional.' That's like me saying 'when she wears her hair up sometimes she ugly,' and everybody saying 'oh, he thinks she is ugly,'" James explained.
"What I said in the video and what people are mad about aren't the same thing," he added.
AS Monaco guard's take went viral when he defined why he didn't include the Golden State Warriors guard in his NBA players' Top-5.
After naming Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Joel Embiid, James was going back and forth between Curry, Luka Doncic, and Nikola Jokic.
The 32-year-old American finally ended up choosing Luka.
"I have to look at your game and how you do it. Steph, how he plays and gets his stuff off, he's just kind of one-dimensional at times if that makes sense," the Monaco guard told on the Players Choice podcast.
"He's not the primary ball-handler a lot, and for a point guard, that kind of bothers me. But he does score off the dribble, he's a superstar, so at this point, when you're picking your Top-5, you're drawing straws, you're just kind of nit-picking," he said.
Even Steph Curry indirectly responded to James by making a joke in his annual camp. He was asked what a one-on-one matchup between him and campers would look like.
"It's all bad for them, all bad for them, even as one-dimensional as I am," Curry responded and laughed.
