According to the report, after another MRI check was completed, Papagiannis condition looks improved, and his chances of participating in the upcoming EuroBasket 2022 are increasing.
Papagiannis did not practice since the first day of preparation (August 1) since the muscular issue in the posterior femur kept him sidelined.
The 25-year-old will definitely miss both FIBA World Cup 2023 Qualifiers games against Serbia and Belgium, but he's expected to return to practice in order to prepare for the upcoming EuroBasket.
Last season, Papagiannis averaged 9.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, and 16.7 PIR for Panathinaikos OPAP Athens in 30 EuroLeague games.
The Greek center was also included in the All-Euroleague Second Team.
