Player of the Game EFF 28 Nikola Jokic Points 29 Accuracy 11-16 Rebounds 8 Assists 6
One of them is his Oklahoma City Thunder teammate's Chet Holmgren injury, which ruled him for the whole 2022-23 season. Despite heartbreaking news, Polusevski believes that Holmgren will successfully show his talent next year.
"It's really a shame and bad news for us, but he's a young guy, he's a real worker, and I think he'll successfully recover from everything and show why he's the second pick," Pokusevski told Bojan Brezovac from Mozzart Sport.
Speaking of Serbia's duel against Greece, the biggest stars shone the brightest.
Nikola Jokic ended up with 29 points (9/13 2PT, 2/3 3PT, 5/10 FT), 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 6 turnovers for 28 EFF.
Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo had his career high for the national team in points with 40 (12/18 2PT, 2/7 3PT, 10/14 FT). He also had 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 3 turnovers for 37 EFF.
"It's a real privilege to watch them, they are amazing players. Of course, both teams are great, it will be an amazing EuroBasket," said the Oklahoma Thunder City's prospect.
Pokusevski also hopes that he will wear a Serbian jersey in the near future.
"I got goosebumps watching the game, it's incredible, and I sincerely hope I will play for Serbia soon. It didn't happen this summer, but the goal is to be with the national team in the future," Pokusevski concluded.
