Nunez was not registered for the last 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers match against the Netherlands last weekend, while Guerra played the least minutes out of all players despite a convincing win.
Earlier this summer, Nunez led Spain to a U20 European title in July, averaging 11.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.6 steals for 14.4 PIR while being two years younger than the competition. The guard went on to become the youngest ever FIBA U20 European Championship MVP.
Spain is currentlyranked no. 6 in BasketNews EuroBasket Power Ranking. The team is placed in Group A together with Montenegro, Georgia, Bulgaria, Belgium, and Turkey.
