NBA will take precautions against COVID-19 in the upcoming season and will enforce new health and safety protocol rules.
Credit: AP – Scanpix Credit AP – ScanpixNBA's health and safety COVID-19 Protocols for the 2022-23 season have been revealed. Unvaccinated players will get tested more often than vaccinated ones, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.
Last season, some of the unvaccinated players like Kyrie Irving had to sit out the home games. This upcoming season it will not be the case but such players will have to be tested more frequently.
Charania shared four main rules of the new health and safety protocols, which are:
Once-weekly surveillance testing for unvaccinated players Vaccinated players only test when symptomatic Isolation immediately upon a positive test Face masks are not requiredMasks will not be enforced this upcoming season. Last season all players needed to wear a mask during all indoor team activities aside from on-court work, showering or actively eating or drinking.
