The Dallas Mavericks representatives will attend Dirk Nowitzki's No. 14 German national team jersey retirement ceremony in Cologne on the opening day of the EuroBasket 2022.

Per Landon Thomas, the Mavs owner Mark Cuban, president of basketball operations Nico Harrison, assistant GM Michael Finley, and head coach Jason Kidd will be in attendance to support Dallas legend.

Among the other guests, there should be a few local football stars, including Christopher Kramer and Sebastian Polter.

The Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, FIBA President Hamane Niang, President of the German Basketball Federation Ingo Weiss, and the main star of the night Dirk Nowitzki are set to give a speech during the ceremony.

Per BasketNews sources, the sold-out crowd is expected to honor Dirk on his special night in his home country.

At least 17,500 tickets were sold for the last Thursday game in Cologne, where Germany will host France.

Per the official information, the total capacity of the Lanxess arena stands at 19,250.

"Inspiration. Just a big inspiration for all of us, especially those who grew up in Europe and tried to make it to the NBA," the French national team star Rudy Gobert told BasketNewswhen asked about the first thing that comes to his mind about Nowitzki.

"His dedication to the game, competitiveness, and the great heart and person he is. It's just amazing for European basketball and basketball in general," three-time NBA defensive player of the year continued.

"I hope that when I retire, I will inspire as many people as he had inspired in his life and career. Just a great example for all of us," Gobert concluded.
