It was reported on September 1 that the Cleveland Cavaliers are trading Lauri Markkanen, Ochair Agbaji, Collin Sexton, three unprotected first-round picks and two pick swaps to the Utah Jazz for Donovan Mitchell.

Mitchell posted a goodbye message to the city and its fans on his Instagram account.

"Thank you for the memories and great times. You've seen me grow on and off the court. Coach Quin Snyder thank you for giving me the opportunity and trusting me to lead the team for the past five years. Love!," he wrote.

Mitchell, who spent his entire NBA career with the Jazz so far, still has 3 years left on his current deal after the trade. He averaged 25.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 67 games (all starts) last season.
