Slovenian national team players praised Luka Doncic for a few spectacular plays against Hungary, but his coach Aleksander Sekulic finds another characteristic of his star player he adores even more.

Luka Doncic invited us to another remarkable basketball spectacle.

He started his show by nutmegging Hungarian guard Benedek Varadi on his way to throwing a nasty no-look lob to Vlatko Cancar.

Doncic kept doing whatever he wanted, including long-range three-pointers, no-look passes or just taking a backseat watching his teammates beating Hungarians.

But the last play of Luka Doncic left even the Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd stunned.

A Slovenian prodigy made a contested long-range three from the logo. That was the third three-pointer in two minutes.

The MVP chant roared over the Lanxess arena.

That crazy Luka's shot concluded his short but remarkable 19-minute performance with 20 points (5/5 2FG, 3/6 3FG), seven rebounds, and seven assists.

His wrist was so hot that he asked his staff to put some ice on it.

Doncic was benched for the rest of the game, with Slovenia being up by 23 (76-53) at the end of the third quarter.

Soon he got comfortable in his chair and watched his highlights on the Lanxess video cube.

Slovenia rolled over Hungary in such style we used to see them cruising past their opponents on the last year's historical Olympic campaign.

"I think he surprises us every time he steps on the floor, honestly. It's hard to get used to a special player like that," Vlatko Cancar smiled after the game.

"We saw him in the NBA and now in the EuroBasket. He is a really good player, and it was a pleasure to play against him," Varadi said in the press conference.

Slovenia national team coach Aleksander Sekulic has had the privilege to follow Luka closely for the last two years.

But above all highlight plays, he loves the passion Doncic brings to the court no matter who his opponent is.

"Of course, he still keeps surprising us in the way he plays. But the thing I like the most about him is that he doesn't care if he plays Hungary or the EuroBasket final," Sekulic said to BasketNews.

"He is going to give it all and try to put up a show in a good way. Like he showed today. Even if we were up twenty, he played amazingly. And if I asked him to play in the last five minutes, I'm sure he wanted to play," the coach smiled.

"Above all, he has this great sportsmanship. He wants to compete, he wants to play. He loves basketball. He also loves to play with his team, he likes to involve everybody. The chemistry we have with him is amazing. Of course, the way he plays, there is always something new, but his attitude is unbelievable," Sekulic concluded.

Slovenia, 2-0, is set to face Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday.
