However, Georgia did not back down as Sandro Mamukelashvili made a tough layup with just two seconds to go. Turkey's last attempt was not successful and the teams had to go to overtime.
Sengun had a chance to ice the game with under two minutes remaining in the overtime but missed both of his free throws. On the other side of the court, Thaddus McFadden made a tough fadeaway three-pointer first, then converted an absurd triple from way downtown from the backboard to give Georgia a narrow one-point lead (76-75).

The reborn Mamukelashvili was the top scorer on the Georgian team. He finished the game with 20 points on 8-for-17 shooting while also recording a double-double with 12 rebounds. First overtime hero McFadden recorded 17 points but made just 4 three-pointers out of 19.
Alperen Sengun led the Turkish team with 21 points and 9 rebounds on 10-for-14 shooting but made only one free throw out of four.
