With the teams separated by just a single point (65-66), Michal Sokolowski drew a foul while shooting a three-pointer. After converting two of the three free throws, Poland was already leading by three (68-65).
After a successful defensive possession, Sokolowski once again finished the attack, this time with a dunk to put Poland up by five (70-65). Although the Netherlands managed to cut the deficit down to three (67-70), Aleksander Balcerowski answered the effort with another dunk (72-67).
The slight underdogs did not give up but it was enough time left to mount a successful comeback. The Polish converted all but one of their free throws and completed the comeback.
