Greece's staff shut him down for the rest of the game to avoid risking further injury. After the match, the Greek basketball federation provided an update on Giannis' status.
"Giannis Antetokounmpo has suffered a slight sprain of his right ankle and is being monitored by the medical staff to have a continuous assessment of his condition," the official report reads.
Giannis had 25 points on 8/9 two-pointers, 1/1 three-pointers, 6/7 free throws, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers during the match against Estonia.
"I don't know why there's such a fuss," coach Dimitris Itoudis wondered at the post-game presser. "Giannis was substituted and got iced like it always happens behind closed doors. Now, it just happened in public view. Now, it's all out in public. Everything is ok."
Even though Itoudis tried to reassure the Greek fans, Giannis left the arena limping after the end of the game.
