Johannes Voigtmann sat out the practice due to a cold. On the other hand, Nick Weiler-Babb (shoulder) and Franz Wagner (ankle) performed some shots at the end but otherwise performed everything individually.
"This is the tournament of survivors. We have two injured and one sick," Herbert said about the losses. "We have to see how the situation is tomorrow."
Wagner twisted his ankle during the third quarter of the Round of 16 match against Montenegro and did not finish the game. Herbert wasn't sure about his availability for the quarterfinal.
Despite the hurdles, Dennis Schroder touted the team's chemistry as a driving force behind all achievements in the tournament and promised to put up a fight against the opponent.
All three of the players are deemed to be game-time decisions for Germany.
"We don't believe that the journey is over," coach Herbert told. "We're 1-2 against the superstars. We want to be 2-2."
