As indicated in our in-depth piece about Italy's journey, it's not the first time the energetic specialist does this.
Marco Spissu was one of the heroes of the match, making six clutch three-pointers to lead his country to an unexpected finish. After the practice yesterday, the guard revealed the amount the team spent with the coach's credit card after the match.
"Everybody just went to dinner together with the team. It wasn't so bad, only 700 euros or so," Spissu told the media. "For 12 people, it's good. We just took chicken wings and water, that's it."
Coach Pozzecco was so energized after the match that he even hugged and kissed Giannis Antetokounmpo, jokingly professing his love to him.
Even Germany's head coach Gordon Herbert had a funny encounter with Pozzecco. The morning after the game, both coaches met in the hotel lobby and shared a moment together.
"I drank coffee with him. We were the only ones awake," Herbert said to the media yesterday. He also couldn't tell if Pozzecco had had any sleep at that point.
"I don't know. He came in and still had a lot of energy. I was a bit surprised to see him at 6:45 a.m. He is very passionate and transmits that to his team. I like to watch Luka Doncic play and him coach," the coach admitted.
