Germany's last win over Greece dates back to EuroBasket 2001 in the elimination round to reach the quarterfinals. Since then, Greece famously beat Germany in the EuroBasket 2005 final as well as in the 2009 Olympics and EuroBasket 2009 second group stage.
This time around, Germany is a host country and considered right up there with Greece among the contenders for the 2022 title after winning five of their six games - losing only to Slovenia in the group phase and knocking off Montenegro in the Round of 16.
Greece, however, has shined throughout and are the only undefeated team left in the competition, grabbing the No. 6 win against the Czech Republic thanks to a strong fourth quarter.
EuroBasket 2005 was also the last time Germany reached the semifinals, while Greece's last top-four finish was third place in 2009.
The Germany-Greece duel starts at 20:30 CEST in the sold-out Mercedes-Benz Arena, Berlin. The winner will play a single semifinal game against Spain.
