Adriatic Basketball league (ABA) has announced that the eight best-ranked teams from the regular season of the competition will compete in the playoffs of the new season.
The assembly of the ABA league decided on the format change at its meeting in Bar, Montenegro. Last year, the six best-ranked clubs from the regular season qualified for the playoffs.
The ABA League announcement:
"At the meeting in Bar, the assembly of the ABA league adopted the statute of the competition and all other necessary rules and acts relating to the smooth start and course of the 2022-23 season. The assembly adopted the decision that eight clubs will participate in the playoffs next season."
The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played over two matches, and the champion will be the team that achieves three wins in the final first.
Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade will defend the ABA title next season, which will begin on September 30.
