After fighting neck-and-neck in the first quarter, Spain went on a quick 6-0 run to start the second quarter and built a nine-point lead (33-24). However, the Germans battled back with vengeance. Andreas Obst made a couple of triples, Dennis Schroder

With the teams tied at 77 with under 6 minutes to go, Usman Garuba took the game over for a couple of possessions. First, he made two free throws, then, he assisted three Spain successful baskets in a row, and Sergio Scariolo's team was already leading by six (86-80) with just under three minutes to go.

Germany tried to mount a comeback but Nick Weiler-Babb stepped out of bounds, Dennis Schroder missed an ill-advised three-pointer, Lorenzo Brown made two free throws, and the home team was already down by 8 (88-80) with just 36 seconds to go.

However, Andreas Obst made his fifth three-pointer of the match to narrow the deficit to five (88-83), forcing Sergio Scariolo to take a timeout. Although Willy Hernangomez made both free throws, Maodo Lo hit a corner triple to narrow the deficit to four (86-90).

However, it was not enough as the Spanish converted all their free throws and there wasn't enough time for the Germans to successfully eliminate the deficit.

Dennis Schroder scored 30 points on efficient 11-for-17 shooting (8/10 2PT, 3/7 3PT, 5/5 FT) while also adding 8 rebounds but it was ultimately not enough to bring his country to the EuroBasket final.

On the other side of the court, Lorenzo Brown added 29 points on 11-for-17 shooting as well with 6 assists in his tally.

It will be the fourth EuroBasket final for Spain in the last six tournaments while Germany will play in the third-place EuroBasket game for the second time in the country's basketball history. Germany had previously advanced to the semifinal round three times and went on to play in the final twice.

Spain will meet France in the final on Sunday while Germany will battle against Poland in the third-place contest.

Germany: Dennis Schroder 30 (8/10 2PT, 3/7 3PT, 5/5 FT, 8 AST), Andreas Obst 15 (5/8 3PT, 5 REB), Franz Wagner 15 (6/7 2PT, 1/6 3PT), Daniel Theis 10 (3/9 2PT).

Spain: Lorenzo Brown 29 (8/10 2PT, 3/7 3PT, 4/4 FT, 6 AST), Willy Hernangomez 16 (4/6 2PT, 5/5 FT), Juancho Hernangomez 13 (5/6 2PT), Alberto Diaz 10.
