Dwayne Bacon was one of the NBA veteran free agents to have some workouts with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Per the same report, Armoni Brooks, Sharife Cooper, Mychal Mulder, Jeremy Lamb, Shabazz Muhammad, and Miye Oni also participated in the scrimmages.

After a disappointing 2021-22 season in which they missed the playoffs, the Lakers have seen a complete overhaul of their roster this summer with only LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, Austin Reaves and Wenyen Gabriel remaining.

The latest addition was a reunion as the Lakers brought back point guard Dennis Schroder on a one-year contract. He takes up the 14th out of 15th possible roster spots after the Lakers previously opened up one by trading Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson for Patrick Beverley.

Whether Dwayne Bacon, a 27-year-old guard-forward with an effective mid-range shot will make the Lakers roster is highly uncertain at this point.

Last year, the former AS Monaco player was cut by Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau in order to keep Wayne Selden, who later moved to Europe as well.

The Lakeland, Florida, native was implicated in some scenarios that brought him close to back-to-back EuroLeague champions Anadolu Efes Istanbul, but eventually no European team signed him.

"My first two years [in the NBA], I dealt with depression," Bacon said in the 'Players' podcast' last May. "Not playing, in my head like, 'Am I good enough?’' Coming [overseas] and being a factor, one of the main guys...that made me feel so good," he admitted.

After two seasons in Tallahassee, Bacon was selected No. 40 in the 2017 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans and was traded to the Charlotte Hornets. From 2017-21, he appeared in 207 career games with 80 starts between the Hornets and Orlando Magic. He averaged a career-high 10.9 points per game in 2020-21 with the Magic.

After his stint with Orlando, Bacon joined AS Monaco Basket in the French LNB Pro A. In 16 games, Bacon averaged 13.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest. He scored a season-high 24 points against Strasbourg March 16.
