Gordon Herbert's team locked up their third podium showing in history after the title in 1993 and second place in 2005.

Poland's Jakub Garbacz continued what he started at the end of the third period. With two successful threes, he tied the game at 59 with 7 minutes to play in the game.

Nevertheless, Johannes Thiemann and Johannes Voigtmann drained three triples in a row and German fans could breathe easier with 5 minutes left on the clock (68-64). Dennis Schroder added five straight points and Germany was up by 9 (73-64).

Poland scored a duo, but Dennis Schroder connected one more shot from downtown, and Germany had a double-digit advantage (76-66) with 2 minutes to go. That was more than enough to secure the third EuroBasket 2022 spot.

The new Los Angeles Lakers signing, Dennis Schroder, finished the duel with 26 points (3/3 2PT, 4/7 3PT, 8/9 FT), 1 rebound, 6 assists, 8 turnovers, 2 steals, and 23 EFF.

He has scored more than 20 points and made more than 5 assists in a EuroBasket game for the 11th time, no other player has done it more than 5 times since 1995.

Powered by Dennis Schroder and Daniel Theis' buckets, Germany went on a 15-3 run in the second quarter to have a 13-point lead (36-23) at halftime.

Germany limited Poland to just 23 points in the first 20 playing minutes. However, Poland's offensive result was even worse in the semis – 18 points against France.

Poland scored more points after the break (26 points) than in the whole first half and had only minus five (49-54) with the last 10 minutes left.

Jakub Garbacz and A.J. Slaughter connected two shots from deep to close the first half with a 6-0 push of Poland.

Germany: Dennis Schroder 26 (6 AST, 8 TO), Johannes Voigtmann 14 (9 REB, 6 AST), Andreas Obst 9, Daniel Theis 9 (6 REB).

Poland: Michal Sokolowski 18 (6 REB), Jakub Garbacz 12, A.J. Slaughter 10 (10 AST).
