Talking with Magenta Sport after the third-place game, the legendary German player gave his opinion about the German national team and its future.
"The top players are still young. I believe that the future for German basketball is rosy," the former player said.
Dennis Schroder was the top man on the roster this EuroBasket. The guard, who recently signed a new deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, averaged 22.1 points and 7.1 assists throughout the tournament.
After the third-place match, Schroder also talked about brining basketball to more people in Germany, a country where football takes the first five places in sports popularity lists, as the president of the German Basketball Federation (DBB) joked.
"I think we made basketball a little sexier in Germany," the player said. "I think the trend is going in the right direction. We have a super team, a lot of quality guys who play in big leagues. We won a lot of new fans who were in the arena and supported us. And I hope it gets bigger."
