After spending four seasons with Anadolu Efes Istanbul and winning two EuroLeague trophies, Adrien Moerman took a turn in his career and signed with AS Monaco.

He didn't leave the top competition in Europe but going back to play in his home country of France after 7 years has a different meaning when you are 34 years old.

"After four years with the same team, my goal was to get out of my comfort zone," Moerman explained his decision to Monaco Tribune. "I wanted to bounce back somewhere, give myself a new challenge, come back to France, too. I want to bring my experience to Monaco. I am proud to be part of this adventure and try to write a little more of the club's history."

Besides EuroLeague, Moerman won the Turkish League twice and captured the Presidential Cup twice with Anadolu Efes as well. He's now back in the French Basketball League (LNB) where he last played during the 2014-15 season.

"The championship has evolved a lot," the player thinks. "With the Spanish championship, which we could put in front, the French championship is the strongest in Europe. It's a challenge for me to evolve in this physical and athletic championship. Many players who evolve in the league then join the NBA. French basketball is progressing and I am proud of it."

Monaco signed many notable players during the offseason. Elie Okobo, Jordan Loyd, John Brown, and Jaron Blossomgame, while Mike James, Donta Hall, and Donatas Motiejunas renewed their contracts.

Talking about the upcoming year, Moerman is clear about the team's goals.

"We are not going to hide it. We are aiming for the French champions title. In EuroLeague, we want to do something big. We have the capabilities. If nobody gets hurt and if we find the right rhythm, we can aim for the Final Four."
