Dzanan Musa was one of several new signings Real Madrid made this offseason. Coming fresh from an outstanding campaign in EuroBasket 2022, the Bosnian guard has since joined the club's training camps and competed in several friendly games.

Musa was one of the best players in the Spanish Liga Endesa last season, averaging 20.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists for 23.1 PIR. His numbers in the national teams' competition were almost exactly the same - 21.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 20.4 PIR.

Understandably, many teams were calling the player at the end of last season. However, Musa just couldn't turn down Real Madrid, he says.

"I had quite a few [offers], but as soon as the one from Madrid came to me, just after the season was over, I made the decision to come here," Musa told Diario AS about the offseason. "Madrid is one of the biggest [clubs] in the world. If they call you and you have an opportunity to play here, you can't turn it down."

Musa had an unsuccessful stint in the EuroLeague two seasons ago with Anadolu Efes Istanbul. After signing a deal in January of 2021, he only played four games in the competition, averaging just 3 minutes of playing time.

A dominant season in Rio Breogan brings Musa to the EuroLeague once again.

"For me it is a challenge to be part of a team full of great players and also good guys, who will help me grow as a player and as a person," the player said.

"We will start the season with the idea that every game matters. When you wear the Madrid shield on your chest, every rival wants to beat you, their motivation is greater," Musa explained.
