First of all, the US beat the Women's World Cup scoring record that stood for more than 30 years. With 145 points in the game, it is now the best result in the tournament's history, surpassing Brazil's 143 points set in 1990. The US's previous scoring record was 119 (vs. Angola in 2014; vs. China in 2006).
Additionally, this victory tied the longest winning streak in international competitions. It was the 26th match that the US women's national team won in a row, matching the record set from 1994 until 2006.
The US beat their field goals made and assist single-game records as well.
Eight players scored in double figures during the game with Brionna James (24 PTS, 12/14 2PT, 8 REB, 3 STL) and A'Ja Wilson (20 PTS, 10/11 2PT, 8 REB) leading the way.
