Credit: SportKlub Srbija Credit SportKlub SrbijaAfter losing to Serbia and getting eliminated from quarterfinal contention, things did not go well between Mali national team members during the 2022 FIBA Women's World Cup.
When the game's top-scorer Sasa Cado was giving an interview for Serbian sports channel Sportklub, her speech was interrupted by loud noises coming from near the mixed zone. Almost immediately thereafter we could see that two Mali players were in a scuffle.
One of them, Salimatou Kourouma, was actively trying to punch one of her teammates, Kamite Elisabeth Dabou. The two women had to be separated both by other players and the coaching staff.
Mali has lost all four games in the tournament so far by an average margin of 30.25 points. Kourouma averages 5.3 points and 4.5 rebounds while Dabou's numbers are a little lower - 3.8 points and a rebound per game.
Serbia, meanwhile, has almost guaranteed a spot in the quarterfinals. If Japan loses to Australia later today, they're through to the next round.
