The Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic, who is referred to as the quiet leader sometimes in the team, wants to be the Tim Duncan of the Nuggets.

However, the Serbian center acknowledges that to become for Denver what Duncan was for the San Antonio Spurs, he has to win at least a couple of NBA titles.

"I want to be the Tim Duncan of the Denver Nuggets, but I need to win a couple of championships to be him," said Jokic during the NBA media day on Monday.

"I like the city, organization, the people. I really enjoy it here. I don't want to change anything," added Jokic.

To have a chance at a title Jokic and the Nuggets will need to have the supporting cast back healthy.

Nuggets guard Jamal Murray says he is feeling better after missing all last year as he recovered from an ACL injury, while Michael Porter Jr. after being limited to just nine games a year ago due to a back injury feels better too.

"I've been taking one day at a time and everybody's always asking me what's it going to look like two months from now. I don't know. I'm on the right road." Murray said.

Nuggets acquired Kentavious Caldwell-Pope via trade and signed Bruce Brown, and along with the growth of some young players like Bones Hyland, the team has high hopes for the upcoming season.

Even though Jokic is NBA MVP, there are areas he can still improve on. One such is his vocal game.

"Everybody is waiting for him to say something. And when he does it has a profound impact," Nuggets head coach Michael Malone said.
