With the start of the season, the French Basketball League (LNB) announced the budgets of the clubs competing for the local title.

Most notably, AS Monaco have increased their total budget by a whopping 47% from €14.1 million to €20.7 million while the payroll for the players increased by 60% from €6.7 million to €10.8 million.

LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne's numbers remained largely the same year-to-year with just a 5% increase in total budget (€15 million to €15.7 million) and 6% in payroll (€4 million to €4.2 million).

Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez, which was the third-wealthiest club during the 2021-22 season, suffered the biggest loss among the 18 teams in the league with a €2.5 million drop from the previous year (€7.8 million to €5.3 million).

Monaco has become the first club in the league's history to reach the 20-million mark, while the median budget is the highest ever recorded, the league announced.
