Shams Charania of The Athletic reports there is confidence in Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball's ability to return this season following left knee surgery on Wednesday that doctors believe addressed the issue. Ball is expected to miss at least a few months.

Both sides are expected to monitor the response over the next two weeks, and a return to play based upon Ball's rehab process, via the report.

"Literally, I really can't run. I can't run or jump. There's a range from, like, 30 to 60 degrees when my knee is bent that I have, like, no force, and I can't, like, catch myself. Until I can do those things I can't play," the 24-year-old said ahead of surgery this week.

Last season, Ball tore the meniscus in his left knee and last played on January 14.

In his first season in Chicago, Ball averaged 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.8 steals over 35 games.
