Talking about his decision to join Zalgiris Kaunas, Evans told the main reason during the club's podcast.

"You just compare roles and situations," he explained. "You see the facilities, you see the culture they're building here, you see the history that they already have here, you just know and trust in someone that you can help them get back to where they want to be."

"They trust in me to come in here and try to turn things around, just believing in me, kind of just saying 'here are the keys, you lead this team, we need you to be the captain as a point guard'. That was big for me to hear that," the player told.

Zalgiris were interested in bringing Evans to the team the year before but the guard chose Maccabi back then. The club's persistence played a part in his decision to come to Lithuania.

"I was kind of in contact with them the year before when I signed with Maccabi, and just to see that they're still interested in me when I turned them down, and they're still saying the same thing. That was huge," Evans said.

The 26-year-old will now be tasked to lead the team to a better tomorrow both in the EuroLeague and in the Lithuanian League.

"It's not just a one-day thing. Everything doesn't happen in one day. It's a buildup," he explained the process. "We're just taking it day by day, everybody is learning about each other, we're still getting better."

"We had a sloppy first game but a win is a win, we have to get back and get ready for the next one. It's good so far, good guys, good coaches," the player shared. "Everything is good so far, we just have to take it day by day. Everything can't happen in one day, so we're just jelling and just working."
